What is Gonzo?
07.08.08 Posted in MythBusters by A. Ghodasara| No Comments »The name Gonzo is derived from Gonzo Journalism first used in 1970 to describe an article by Journalist Hunter S. Thomson.
Gonzo Journalism as per answers.com is characterized by:
“its punchy style, rough language, and ostensible disregard for conventional journalistic writing forms and customs. Gonzo journalism attempts to present a multi-disciplinary perspective on a particular story, drawing from popular culture, sports, political, philosophical and literary sources. It has a good deal in common with new journalism and on-line journalism “
Wikipedia describes Gonzo Journalism as:
“Gonzo journalism is a style of journalism which is written subjectively, often including the reporter as part of the story via a first person narrative. The style tends to blend factual and fictional elements to emphasize an underlying message and engage the reader”
